Born in Comiso Sicily. As a sculptor son he grew in a very creative and artistic environment, helping the father in making gypsum moulds since he was teen. During scientific high schools times he performed artistic works in the op art and was very passionate of photography.
With this background the choice of Industrial Design studies was the natural development. In 1978 he move to Milano to study at Scuola Politecnica di Design, the first Italian Design school founded by N. Di Salvatore. There he studied with teachers like Bruno Munari, Narciso Silvestrini, Attilio Marcolli, Perry A. King. He started his carrier at Olivetti Corporate Identity Service, designing cultural exhibitions, showrooms, displayes, booths.
Since 1981he worked for 5 years with one of the best Italian Design Master designing a wide variety of products in different fields such as TV set, Car stereo, Medical Equipments, Machining Centres, Lamps, Bathroom accessories, Public Telephones…for Italian and foreign companies during last 2 years there, as a Senior Design manager, he followed the development of projects with direct contacts with Clients.
In 1986 he founded Micieli Design Workshop with Giovanna Strada Designer and Artist.
In the first years the Company was active especially in Home accessories Design, Exhibit Design and Graphic Design. In the 90s the vocation for industrial design has prevailed working for Companies like GILARDONI, AGUSTA-WESTLAND, CEMB and TECNOTEST in the equipment and transportation field.
Since the 2000s the business has had an important international development in countries like Japan, USA, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, China and Germany.
His work have been recognized with Design awards.
He has held conferences in Universities, Manufacturers Associations and Cultural Centres both in Italy and abroad.
